This is where I’ve mostly been lately and Book 2

This is where I’ve mostly been lately and Book 2 is so close to done I can TASTE it. (It tastes like a draft manuscript, which is to say somewhat like the Gang of Youths lyric ‘all glory and trash’). While there have definitely been some Wtf Have I Done moments being in the thick of writing a second book when releasing the first one into the big wide world, it‘s also been *v, v good* for my mental health. I pitched it as kind of like Sherlock Holmes X Wuthering Heights if Holmes and Watson were teenagers with anxiety, but with TSwift’s ‘evermore’ as the soundtrack. Prepare for a vanished great-aunt, an old house on a cliff by the sea, a pair of complicated dual protagonist sisters, queer girls, one historian boy, ghosts, and graveyards comin’ your way in 2022. ☺️🙏🏻🌊✨

Publication week for HHH is officially at an end a

Publication week for HHH is officially at an end and my gawd! was it! a raging campfire! of emotions! Highlights include: - signing many books w/ my trusty assistant as seen in third pic, who is v good at gently pointing out when the masked smiling eyes are looking like A Lot - some very lovely words about it written by some very lovely book people - opening with ‘I still can’t believe you said yes when I asked if you wanted to read it!’ while (live) chatting with the wonderful Shannon. - my friends’ scholarly annotations of the text - an hour long chat with a fascinating queer interviewer after we finished recording, about movies + Myers Briggs personality types + Keiynon Lonsdale - the memes - the teens I’ve chatted to who have read it!!!! 🤯 - the crying - the crying - the tears

Finally got to visit this glorious window display (and sign some books!) at @wherethewildthingsare_bookshop today 🥺 Absolutely wild(e) to see my little lemony baby in the bookshop I used to browse for good stuff to recommend my students. 😭💜💛
